“Langston Hughes” by B.A. Hoena
It was a good read about Langton Hughes. Pretty
typical biography. Langston Hughes pioneered jazz poetry and lead the African Americans
with his innovation and ability to reach the masses through his words. It was interesting
to learn about his times in New York City and the Harlem Renaissance.
I would use this in my classroom to teach
about Langston Hughes and tie it into diversity. We would also listen to his
poetry.

“Franklin D Roosevelt” by Paul Joseph
It was interesting to learn about Franklin
d Roosevelt also known as Teddy.
I would use this in my classroom to talk about
the Great Depression. I would make a realistic scene of what you could by
during the great depression and how much it cost.

“Norman Rockwell” by Mike Venezia
This was an awesome book about a very
talented man.
I would use this in my classroom to talk
about telling a story through drawing. I would have students draw out a scene and
write a short narrative.

“Miranda Lambert” by Jim Gigliotti
A good little book about a very talented country
music singer Miranda Lambert. I think this might be a book that young girls could connect with because they may know her sonsg
I would use this book in a class room to
talk about singing. I would play one of her self-composed songs and ask the
students to write their own song.

“John F Kennedy Our thirty-fifth president”
by Judith E Harper
This was a nice little read out John F
Kennedy.
I would use this in my classroom to
discuss government and the presidents. I might would talk about the great things
he wanted to do then have students create their own ideas for a better government.
